Lore of the Raccoon

Once there was a lil raccoon in the forest, living happily with her raccoon friends. Her life was quite boring until one day, she got injured on the road. Thankfully a human happened to stumble upon her! The human was kind at first, took her to their hideout in the forest and made sure she recovered safely from her injuries. The lil raccoon trusted this human and stuck around with them for a while.What the lil raccoon didn't know was that this human was actually a twisted scientist who had a fantasy of animals becoming half-human, half-animal hybrids. Creatures that could be used for their labour, mostly by the rich.
The human thought maybe the lil raccoon would be the perfect #0 subject, since she had trust in them.
So one day the Scientist put the lil raccoon in a cage and started experimenting on her... The raccoon spent days, weeks, months in agony and wished it would just end, so she could get back to her den where her friends waited, all who she missed so much.The human almost gave up on their fantasy, but then they found a bag of special mineral at a local antique shop, containing very powerful emeralds within. The emeralds had magic that could make the human's fantasy, into reality. It was the last ingerdient to the potion which would make the perfect human-animal hybrid. The human made the potion the same day...
The raccoon was forced to drink the potion and the transformation was painful and slow,,, It seemed like an eternity. The raccoon felt dizzy and everything hurt after her transformation, her body didn't feel right, her perspective changed and all of a sudden her head was filled with human words and her heart with human emotions. She didn't understand anything and was so overwhelmed by all of it, she blacked out...Next thing, she was woken by the words of the human, saying that her life now depends on the emerald - she was surprised she understood their words, but just listened since she herself could not speak the words - she was told that she has to be skin to stone with the emerald and if she isn't for longer 24 hours straight, she will collapse and die a painful and slow death. The now not so raccoon had no choice but to believe the human and do as they said. She was given one emerald and only had access to the emerald during day time, then it was taken by the human at night to keep the raccoon at their hideout, not giving her a chance to flee.Months passed at this point and as the Scientist wanted it, the raccoon became their worker, doing everything the human didn't want to bother with.
During this time, the raccoon found an computer in the hideout's basement where she spent her time free of work, she took interest in it and started to learn how to use it.
She grew to love the games she found on it, surfing the wide web, learning the language by listening to music and how to draw which became one of her favourite things to do to pass time at night. She would stay up late on most nights to do these things - She was still a nocturnal being, even if her body didn't really enjoy this lifestyle anymore.The more she surfed the net, the more she found out about the world, one of which is that all humans have names. This got her thinking "Why hasn't I gotten one? Maybe because I'm only half-human... But what if I gave myself a name?", so then she tried out many from various websites, but none really fit her, she thought. This whole name deal was much harder than expected.Another few weeks gone by and at this point the not so raccoon was just surfing the internet, having no idea what would be the perfect name... Until.
She found an anime called Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. She loved it and watched it every night possible! Then finally, she got to season 3, where she met Kakyoin who reminded her of herself - His cool attitude, his passion to fight for his friends, his love for gaming and of course, his connection to emeralds made the raccoon feel like she just met another version of herself. The raccoon really loved the look of Kakyoin's main ability and the name of it as well - So after a bit of thinking she thought "This is perfect, EmSprashu is perfect! And for short it could be Ems! I finally have a name!!"
Now she had a name, Ems had a name! She happily told the human, but of course they did not care for it, all they wanted is a clean house, food on the table and someone to take their anger out on when they felt like it.Ems at this point has been in this body, with this human for a bit over a year, she hated being here more and more as time passed and wanted to run away as far as possible... Without help though, she had no chance to escape.Meanwhile the Scientist was still passionate about their experiments, one of which went wrong and this gave Ems a lil friend - well, friends.
Her first friend was Kip (named after the sound he made)! Kip was once a raccoon too, but now he was more of a furrball with tiny legs.
Ems found Kip right after the experiment went wrong, he was the first to come out of the cages, exhausted and overwhelmed as well - they looked at each other and immediately connected. More and more like him came along later, some little different than other's in terms of colouring, but they all were just the cutest & who all also became good friends of Ems.
The human was furious, he messed up the lil raccoons potion and all became failed experiments, useless furballs... These experiments were supposed to become helpers too, being sold to the richest. They were supposed to be more animal like, much smaller as well, but being able to walk on 2 legs and carry stuff around. But with the tiny legs and round bodies they formed, now they could not do anything for anyone, and of course the rich would not want them...
Therefore they stayed with Ems, she was with her kin again - more or less.A couple of weeks gone by and Ems is now determined to leave and try to save all her new friends.
The plan was clear - Kip and the rest of the kits steals the emerald, give it to Ems and together they leave through the basement's tiny window! Easy-peasy.So then, first chance they had, the plan was in motion. Ems pretended to go to sleep and Kip hid in the human's bedroom with a couple other kits and waited until around 3am when the human would a 100% be in a deep sleep.
This was the perfect time, so Kip and the kits moved the human in a postion where they could get as close to the emerald as possible. He was wearing it around his neck, so this was the hardest part of the plan, but since Kip and the others are so fluffy and soft, they could easily push and pull, and even move parts of the body without alarming the human. They got what they came for!Ems waited with anxiety, but was super relieved when saw her lil friends and the emerald wrapped up on Kip's tail. To her surprised, the others also managed to grab the bag with the remaining emeralds in it, which ment Ems would never ever run out of emeralds and the human was now unable to torture any more animals, like they tortured Ems.They made a run for the window... But, something was missing... Something that Ems was too fond of to leave it behind. The computer! She had to grab it, it was her only source of the outside while she was in her worst moments.So there they went. Kip, all of the lil Kits and Ems were now on their way through the wood running as fast as possible away from that nightmare of a place. Ems was on the verge of tears thinking about her freedom. She of course now was an outsider, the human only made a handful of others like her who then went to help rich people - and who might already be dead...
She herself was a target now. She knew the Scientist would try to search for her, so she had to lay low, for a while...
After weeks of running, swimming, walking away from the Scientist, cities, villages and any kind of society and her old friends,,, She found an old unoccupied house. This place seemed perfect for now!Right after they all settled into the house, first thing she did was set up her computer. She of course got everything needed during their travels - mostly asking Kip & the other roundcoons to steal it for her during the night. It wasn't the best, but was more than enough, so now she was able to connect to the people on the other side of the wide web, where she found out, many Kits got lost after her escape...
Now, her only mission is to avoid the Scientist & their crew... And to reach all and every lost Kit through the internet!
